RedotPay Card Review: Is the $8 Virtual or $80 Physical Crypto Card Worth It?
The RedotPay crypto card reviewed: what codes getquids and getquidsp take off the $10 and $100 card fees, every spending, currency and ATM fee, what a year really costs, where the card works, the custody and account-freeze risks, and who should skip it.
Last updated 24 October 2026

Best for
People outside the US, mainland China and RedotPay's other excluded countries who hold USDT or USDC, want to spend it anywhere cards are accepted, and pay mostly in US dollars.
A capable way to spend stablecoins, with two costs to price in. With our codes the virtual card costs $8 instead of $10 and the physical card $80 instead of $100, both one-off, with no monthly or annual fee. Every purchase paid from crypto then costs 1% for the conversion, plus 1.2% when you pay in a currency other than US dollars, so $500 a month of euro or baht spending comes to about $132 a year in fees. RedotPay is a custodial app, not a bank: it can restrict an account while it asks for source-of-funds documents, and that is the complaint users raise most. Get the virtual card for online spending and Apple Pay or Google Pay; pay $80 for the physical card only if you need ATMs or chip-and-PIN.

What RedotPay is
RedotPay is a stablecoin payment app with more than 9 million users. You hold crypto in the app, and when you pay with the card RedotPay converts it to the card's currency at the moment of payment. Since 21 January 2026 every new card is billed in US dollars; older cards may still be in Hong Kong dollars.
It is run by a group of companies rather than one licensed bank. Red Dot Technology Limited in Hong Kong publishes the app, Red Dot Trust Limited holds customer crypto as custodian, RedotX Global (Panama) runs Earn, peer-to-peer trading and crypto transfers, and an Argentine branch is registered as a virtual asset service provider with the CNV (No. 144). The card runs on Visa through a card-issuing partner that RedotPay's terms call its BIN sponsor. RedotPay states plainly that it is not a bank, and its terms say an account is neither a banking service nor a stored value facility.
Virtual or physical: which card to get
The virtual card costs $10 and suits online shopping, subscriptions and phone payments: it is ready within minutes of ordering and can be added to Apple Pay and Google Pay. The physical card costs $100 and adds a chip, contactless payments, a PIN and ATM withdrawals. Standard mail is free and takes 5 to 30 days; DHL Express takes 3 to 10 days and is priced at checkout.
You can't upgrade a virtual card to a physical one by paying the difference; it is a separate order. Both cards are valid for three years, and you can hold up to five cards in your lifetime, deleted ones included, so choose deliberately.
The codes: what getquids and getquidsp save
Enter getquids when you order a virtual card, or getquidsp for a physical card, in the promo code field on the card order screen before you pay. The price drops by 20%, from $10 to $8 or from $100 to $80, and the order screen shows the new price before you confirm. The fee is taken from your RedotPay balance when the card is issued, so deposit enough first.
New accounts get a 5 USDs sign-up reward, RedotPay's in-app dollar token. It is for card purchases only, can't pay the card fee and expires 30 days after you receive it.
Disclosure: getquids and getquidsp are our own partner codes, and RedotPay pays us a share of the card fee when you order with them. It comes out of RedotPay's fee, not your balance.
Fees once you have the card
Spending in US dollars carries no currency fee; spending in any other currency costs 1.2%. Separately, RedotPay charges a 1% transaction fee for converting your crypto when it pays for a purchase. ATM withdrawals with the physical card cost 2% on a USD card, rising to 3% above $10,000 a month, before any charge the ATM operator adds.
Small charges add up: payments of $1 or less are free for the first five a month per card, then $0.20 each, and declined payments are free for the first three a month, then $0.50 each. Some merchants, including Facebook Ads, Discord and several mobile games, carry a 1.5% fee (minimum $0.50) after three such payments a month. There is no monthly or annual fee, deposits are free, and a replacement virtual card costs $5 the first time and $10 after that.
What a year costs: a worked example
Take $500 a month of card spending, $6,000 a year, paid from a USDT balance so the 1% conversion fee applies. With the virtual card and spending in US dollars, the year costs $8 plus $60, or $68. Spend in euros, baht or pesos instead and the 1.2% adds $72, for $140. The physical card costs $140 a year for dollar spending and $212 for spending in other currencies. Without a code each figure is $2 or $20 higher, and every ATM withdrawal adds 2%.
RedotPay Pro is an optional subscription: $12.90 a month or $129 a year. The annual plan waives the physical card fee once, refunds ATM fees on up to $1,000 a month and pays 3% cashback on Apple Pay and Google Pay purchases, capped at $18 a month in a spend-only token that expires after 30 days. It is a plan for heavy spenders, not a cheaper way to get one card: $129 against $80 with getquidsp.
Funding, custody and what protects your money
You can deposit BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, S, SUI, TRX, XRP, USDT and USDC on-chain, or buy crypto in the app. There is no deposit fee and no balance limit. Holding stablecoins avoids price swings between deposit and spending; holding BTC or ETH means the dollar value of your card balance moves with the market.
Your crypto sits in custodian accounts at Red Dot Trust, and no deposit insurance scheme covers it. RedotPay's terms let it suspend, limit or freeze an account without notice and cap its liability at your balance. Disputes go to arbitration in Hong Kong under Hong Kong law. A self-custody wallet option exists, but the card spends from the custodial balance, so keep there only what you plan to spend.
Who can get it, and where it works
You need to be 18 or over and can verify only one account per person. Verification asks for an original ID valid for at least three more months, a face scan, your home address and a short questionnaire about your occupation and source of funds; some applicants are also asked for a personal statement or source-of-funds documents, due within 14 days.
Citizens of 41 countries can't verify at all, including the United States, mainland China, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, and the app is blocked if you are located in almost all of them. Residents of India, Indonesia, Singapore, Turkey, Morocco, Nepal and several more can open an account but can't get a card, and physical cards can't be shipped to Egypt, Tunisia or Palestine either. Once issued, the card works at merchants in more than 100 countries, although some countries block foreign cards and some merchants refuse crypto-funded cards.
Limits and cash withdrawals
Card spending can reach $100,000 per transaction and $1,000,000 a day, so the limits rarely matter. ATM withdrawals are capped at three a day and 30 a month; on a USD card the cap is $3,750 a day and $50,000 a month, cut to $3,000 and $10,000 in some countries. Older HKD cards allow HK$23,000 a day and HK$75,000 a month.
Hotels, car rental firms and petrol stations often hold more than the final bill; the hold adjusts when the payment settles. Merchant refunds reach your RedotPay balance 2 to 15 days after RedotPay receives them.
What users complain about
On 24 October 2026 the app was rated 4.3 from 79,846 ratings on Google Play and 4.7 from 4,372 ratings on the US App Store.
The recurring complaints are accounts restricted for days while RedotPay asks for source-of-funds or source-of-wealth documents, the $0.50 declined-payment fee pushing balances below zero when a subscription retries, slow support that starts with an AI assistant, identity checks rejected without a clear reason, Apple Pay working on some cards and not others, and app updates that stopped people logging in.
Ordering the card and closing your account
Download the app, register with an email address, Google or Apple, complete identity verification and deposit crypto. Then open Card, choose virtual or physical, enter getquids or getquidsp and pay. A virtual card is usable within minutes; a physical card can be activated once it arrives.
Deleting a card is permanent and the fee isn't refunded. Before deleting your account, move out every asset: anything left is treated as abandoned, you have 15 days to change your mind, and your identity stays linked to the closed account, so you can't open a new one later.
Who should get it, and who should skip it
Get the $8 virtual card if you hold stablecoins, live in a supported country and want to pay online, by phone or for subscriptions, especially in US dollars. Add the $80 physical card if you travel, need cash from ATMs or pay where phones aren't accepted.
Skip it if you would keep savings in the app, need deposit protection, can't supply source-of-funds documents if asked, or mostly spend in a non-dollar currency and want the lowest fees: 2.2% on every purchase is a real cost against a local bank card.
FAQ
