Solid Visa Card Review: Is $25 in FUSE Worth $150 of Spending?
The Solid stablecoin card reviewed: the free virtual Visa, 3% to 5% cashback in USDC, the 1.5% FX cost, savings yield and FUSE, the $25 referral with code 2SS2K under its October 2026 rules, the 105 countries, the risks and who should skip it.
Last updated 24 October 2026

Best for
People in one of Solid's 105 card countries who hold USDC or can fund the card cheaply, spend mostly in US dollars or euros, and can put $160 of everyday purchases across at least three shops on the card in their first month.
A free card whose cashback outruns its fees: you get 3% back in USDC on everyday purchases, up to $50 a month, and the only card cost is a 1.5% FX charge on non-dollar spending. With code 2SS2K you also get $25 in FUSE once you have spent $150 at three or more shops within 30 days and made one more purchase, so the first month is worth about $27 to $30. Weigh two things: the reward is paid in FUSE, a volatile token, 30 days after you qualify, and Solid is a young self-custodial DeFi app whose savings yield isn't a bank deposit. Use it as a spending card first and treat the savings side as a crypto product.
Pros
- Free virtual Visa: no issuance, monthly or top-up fee
- 3% cashback in USDC on everyday purchases at Core, up to $50 a month (4% at Prime, 5% at Ultra)
- No fee on US-dollar spending, and no FX fee on euro spending from a EUR balance on Wirex-issued cards

- Self-custodial: your funds stay in a passkey-secured Safe smart account until you spend them
- Available in 105 countries, with Apple Pay and Google Pay
Watch-outs
- The $25 is paid in FUSE, converted at payout, and its value then moves with the token price
- 1.5% FX cost built into the exchange rate on non-USD spending
- Strict referral rules: everyday purchases only, $10+ at each of 3 shops, and one more purchase before payout
- Savings yield comes from DeFi strategies and isn't FDIC-insured or fixed
- A new app: 110 ratings on Google Play and 5 on the US App Store
- Not available to residents of China, India, Nepal, Russia and several other countries

Join Solid with referral code 2SS2K. Within 30 days of signing up, verify, activate the card, and spend $150 on everyday purchases at 3+ different shops with $10+ at each; then make one more eligible purchase of $10+ before payout. The $25 is converted to FUSE (Solid's native token) at payout and paid to Savings 30 days after qualifying, after any review of up to 14 days, so its sterling value (about £19) moves with the token price. Transfers, top-ups, gift cards, cash, crypto, gambling, purchases under $2 and refunds don't count. Solid markets a stablecoin money app with a free virtual Visa issued by Rain or Wirex depending on country of residence, up to ~5% cashback (tiered), and yield on stables/SoUSD; treat cashback and APY as up-to figures. What Solid is
Solid calls itself the stablecoin money app: a Visa card, a savings vault that pays yield on dollars, and tools to send, receive and swap stablecoins, all from one app on iOS, Android and the web. The app is published by Solid Superapp LLC in Wyoming, and the card programme is provided through Fuse Network Ltd. Solid is a technology company, not a bank.
Your account is a Safe smart account, the wallet infrastructure many DeFi protocols use, secured with passkeys on your device instead of a seed phrase. Solid can't move your funds without your approval. US virtual account details come through SSB, Member FDIC, but FDIC cover applies only to money held at SSB, not to stablecoins, savings or the card balance.
How the card works
The card is a free virtual Visa Platinum. It is issued under Visa licence through Rain, whose international card terms name Third National as issuer, or through Wirex, depending on your country; the programme is assigned automatically and works the same way. Verification takes about two minutes, the card activates as soon as you are approved, and you can add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay straight away. There is no physical card.
The card spends only its own Spendable balance, so move money onto it first; each card deposit must be at least $10. The default Cash mode works like a debit card. Credit mode, in early beta on Wirex cards only, treats each purchase as a small loan backed by your soUSD savings. Visa Platinum adds purchase protection, extended warranty and car rental cover from Visa.
Cashback
Every eligible purchase earns cashback in USDC: 3% at Core, the tier everyone starts on, capped at $50 a month; 4% at Prime, capped at $100; and 5% at Ultra, capped at $200. Prime costs $199 a year or a 12-month lock of 50,000 FUSE; Ultra needs a 12-month lock of 400,000 FUSE. Prime and Ultra also pay 10% to 20% on the first AI, streaming or music purchase each month, and higher rates on rides and, at Ultra, airlines.
Cashback lands 14 days after the purchase settles, paid into Savings as soUSD so it earns yield straight away, and is taken back if the purchase is refunded. Transfers to people, wallet top-ups, gift cards, cash, crypto, gambling and other financial transactions earn nothing.
Fees
The card is free to get and keep, adding money to it is free, and spending in US dollars carries no fee wherever the merchant is. Spending in any other currency costs 1.5%, built into the exchange rate: 1% for the card provider and 0.5% for Solid. Wirex cardholders can hold a euro balance in EURC on Base and pay euro purchases from it with no FX fee at all. Solid covers cross-border fees.
Elsewhere in the app, crypto deposits are free on the Fuse network, 0.1% on Ethereum and 0.03% on other networks. Bank deposits cost 0.5% at Core, 0.25% at Prime and nothing at Ultra, swaps the same, and opening US account details costs $10 once. Bank withdrawals are free for now; Solid plans a tiered withdrawal fee and says it will announce it first. The card terms allow FX and cross-border fees of up to 3% each and late fees of up to $40 in Credit mode, so watch for changes.
The referral: $25 in FUSE with code 2SS2K
Sign up through our link with code 2SS2K, then complete three steps within 30 days of signing up: verify your identity, activate the card, and spend $150 on everyday purchases at three or more different shops, with at least $10 at each. After that, make one more eligible purchase of $10 or more before the payout date. Solid pays $25 in FUSE into your Savings 30 days after you qualify, converting the dollar amount to FUSE at that moment, and may first review the reward for up to 14 days.
The rules tightened on 8 October 2026. Only everyday purchases count: shopping, groceries, restaurants, transport, online stores and subscriptions. Money transfers, wallet top-ups, gift cards and game credit, cash, crypto, investments, gambling, taxes and fines don't count, nor do purchases under $2 or anything refunded. You must never have had a Solid account before.
Disclosure: 2SS2K is our own code, so we receive $25 in FUSE too when you qualify.
What the first month is worth
Qualifying takes $160 of spending: the $150 plus the extra $10 purchase. Spend it in US dollars from USDC deposited on the Fuse network and you pay no fees, earn $4.80 in cashback and get the $25 in FUSE, about $29.80 in all. Spend it in another currency, funded by a bank transfer, and the 1.5% FX cost ($2.40) and 0.5% deposit fee ($0.80) bring it to about $26.60.
The $25 is fixed in dollars only until it is paid. From then on it is FUSE, and its value rises or falls with the token. Swap it to USDC in the app (0.5% at Core) if you want a stable balance, or keep it to work towards Prime.
Savings, soUSD and FUSE
Savings turns USDC into soUSD, a token representing your share of a vault that puts money into audited DeFi strategies such as lending markets. Solid advertises up to 6% a year on dollars; the rate is variable, and soUSD rises in value rather than in number. Withdrawals go through a queue and a two-step process, and minting or redeeming costs gas, although Solid handles it for you.
FUSE is the token of the Fuse network that Solid is built around. Referral rewards arrive in it, it can earn yield in Savings, and locking it unlocks the Prime and Ultra tiers. None of this is a bank deposit or covered by FDIC insurance, and smart-contract and stablecoin risk sit with you.
Who can get it
The card is available to residents of 105 countries: every EU and EEA country, the UK and Switzerland, much of Latin America and the Caribbean, 10 African countries, Asian markets including Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, the Gulf, Israel and Turkey, Australia and New Zealand, and more than 30 US states. It can't be issued to residents of Belarus, China, Cuba, India, Iran, Iraq, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Syria or Venezuela.
Eligibility follows where you live, not your passport. Verification asks for a government ID from any country, a live selfie and proof of address in a supported country dated within the last three months; Rain cards are checked by Rain, Wirex cards by Sumsub. A rejection can't be overridden by Solid, and opening a new account with the same documents gives the same result.
Catches and risks
The referral can fall through after you have done the work: a refunded purchase, a merchant that doesn't count, or no extra purchase before payout and the reward shows as Not eligible. Solid applied the October 2026 rules to every unpaid referral, so terms can change while you are qualifying.
The card terms let the issuer amend terms without notice, and Credit mode is borrowing, currently at 0% interest, with interest possible on new purchases later. Self-custody means a lost device needs Solid's passkey recovery, and every DeFi strategy carries smart-contract risk.
What users complain about
On 24 October 2026 the Android app had 110 ratings on Google Play, averaging 4.7, from more than 5,000 downloads, and the US App Store listing had 5 ratings averaging 3.4. That is too few to judge reliability.
The complaints that do appear, and the problems Solid's own troubleshooting pages address, are deposits that don't show up, withdrawals stuck on pending, cards that won't activate, identity checks rejected, and slow replies when something goes wrong.
Who should get it, and who should skip it
Get it if you live in a supported country, already hold USDC or can deposit cheaply on Fuse, spend mostly in dollars or euros and will hit $150 at three shops in your first month anyway. The cashback alone covers the FX cost, and the $25 in FUSE is a real extra.
Skip it if you want a bank account with deposit insurance, need a physical card, mostly spend in a third currency on a Rain card where 1.5% applies to everything, or would make purchases just to qualify: Solid excludes the transactions people use to game referrals.
